The U.S. Department of Labor sponsors many job-related programs and services. These are often referred to as CareerOneStop, workforce services or workforce centers. The services provided can help you find new employment, learn new skills, improve existing skills, get a better job and more.

There is a CareerOneStop website that can help you explore new careers, plan for education, get advice on your resume, get connected with job-searching tools and more – all for free!
There are also CareerOneStop and Workforce job centers all over the country that provide additional services. Most services are provided for free, though a few may require a small fee. You may also need to provide proof that you are eligible for the available services. Benefits provided by such centers often include:
- Access to computers and other office equipment
- In-person training and job-related assessment services
- Assistance applying for unemployment benefits
- Supportive services that help you get a job, such as childcare assistance while you complete job training.
