Hi
Try moving all the x's to the left side and the numbers to the right. As long as youre doing these simples moves you do not have to change the <.
x < 1

If you ad the two equations (2x+3x, 2y+-2y and -2+12 you end up with one equation, 5x = 10. This one is easier to solve. x = 2. If you put x=2 into the first equation you will get 4+2y=-2. Solving this you will get y=-3.
Hope it will help

I'm taking geometry. It's pretty complicating but I' not doing as bad as I thought i would.

Step 1: MOVE ONE VARIABLE (X or Y) to either side- I went with putting the Y on the left side of the = sign and the X on the right side, thus resembling Y=mx+b
Step 2: I subtracted 4x from the left side and subtracted 2 (remember the whatever you do to one side, you must do to the other, since we do not have a Y variable on the right hand side, we do not do anything on the right except writing in 5+4x - 4x - 2.
great site thaks

Step 3) 7Y = 5+ 4x-4x-2
Step 4) Simply step 7Y = 5+ 4x-4x-2 note the 4x's cancels out, 5-2 ='s 3
Step 5) 7Y = 3
Step 6) Divide the 7 out of the Y by using 7, Also divide 3 by 7
Step 7) Y =3/7 or 3 over 7
Hey Lindakaye,
Please review your PEMDAS (Order of Operations)
Step 1: 20-15 = 5
Step 2: take 5 and divide by -1 = -5
Final: -5
