WHAT IS THE ONLINE RESOURCE DATABASE?

The Online Resource Database is a comprehensive guide to the community resources in the Sacramento Region. The Online Resource Database provides information about more than 2,367 community service programs in the Sacramento Region.

The services listed are provided by nonprofit organizations and government agencies. Each organization must be eligible to be listed (link to Add or Edit page), and has been asked to provide information about its location, phone number, services offered, application procedure, hours, fees, and area served. The database was last updated on 5/11/2008.

HOW TO USE THE ONLINE RESOURCES DATABASE

Welcome to How to Use the Sacramento Beehive Online Resource Database. If you would like someone to come to your agency to give a training session, contact the information and referral manager at the InfoLine Sacramento: (916) 442-4273 or infoline@communitycouncil.org.

What is the Online Resources Database? The Online Resources Database, is an online database of health and human services available to residents in the Sacramento Region. The database, located at www.SacramentoBeehive.org, provides anytime access to providers of basic community services such as housing, food, health, and other human services. Programs included are city, county, state, or federal governments programs, programs operated by nonprofit agencies or community groups.

Inclusion in the database does not imply endorsement of the organization and exclusion does not suggest disapproval. The Community Services Planning Council is not responsible for the quality of service delivered by any organization listed. The information presented is provided by the organization.

What Information Is Available for a Program? The following information is available for each program: location, phone number(s), fax number, email contact, web site, days and hours of operation, program description, eligibility, intake procedure, fees, languages other than English, handicap accessibility, and transportation to the location.

How Is the Right Information Found? When we use a phone book, we look under a word or words that name the service such as auto repair or senior centers. The Online Database works the same way. You can search for resources under the topics for Food, Employment, Health, etc. You can also search by population type, location, or by the name of the organization.

HOW IS THE DATA MAINTAINED?

For more than 60 years, the Community Services Planning Council has been producing information, reports and publications to assist individuals, community organizations, local businesses and public agencies gain a greater understanding of community issues and the resources available to help people find the services they need.

Since 1941, CSPC has published an annual Community Services Directory, which has grown from a 43-page booklet to a 580 page comprehensive compendium of agencies and programs providing healthcare, social and community services in the greater Sacramento area.

The Community Services Planning Council maintains an inventory of health and human services programs in the Sacramento Region in a database that includes 2,367 programs and 968 agencies.

This data is maintained according to the standards of the national Association of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS) (http://www.airs.org/) by certified Community Resource Specialists. Data is updated on an ongoing basis and follow-up by database specialists ensure 100% update. Corrections, changes or new information about agencies and programs not currently listed would be appreciated. Adding to Updating a Resource.

The Online Resource Database is being provided as a public service. Information included in the Online Resource Database is provided voluntarily by the agencies listed. Inclusion of an agency does not imply endorsement of its services, nor does exclusion reflect on any organization's contribution to the community.

The Community Services Planning Council owns and maintains the information in the Online Resource Database. Multiple organizations provide partial support for the maintenance of the database, and their assistance is essential to keeping the information current:
