It is very common these days to apply for a job on the Internet. It is fairly simple, and many times easier to apply for a job online instead of in person.
Most companies have applications you can fill out and submit on the Internet. Some have applications you can save on your computer, type in the answers and email back to them. Others may not have an application, but will ask you to email them a resume and cover letter.
Review the instructions provided by that company and follow them exactly. Make sure you address the email to the correct person. Many companies will tell you exactly what to type in the subject line of your email. Make sure to copy that exactly. If they do not, it is best to simply place the title of the job you are applying for in the subject line. Make sure to follow any other specific instructions given by the company, this will show you can follow directions and will help to make sure your application is not lost or thrown away.
Many companies will send an automatic response for every application they receive. If they do not, you can always send a follow up email or make a follow up phone call a few days later just to make sure that your application was received
