How To Take Care Of Your Washing Machine

Simple things like keeping the washing machine clean and level will keep it working for a long time.
  • Avoid water damage by checking and changing hoses. Replace washing machine hoses at least every 5 years.
  • Clean the lint filter to prevent fire and save money on your electricity bill. The lint filter is located near the top of the machine. In Maytag washers, clean the lint by lifting out the center tube of the agitator. You may need to pull the washing machine away from the wall and check or clean hoses and screens.
  • Washing machines should be level or they will vibrate or even “walk”. To level the machine you need to adjust the legs. Tilt the washing machine forward and set it back down again on the rear legs.
